About EasyReach

Born out of frustration. Built out of necessity.

Like most Arlo owners, I loved my cameras. Reliable, sharp, and always watching — right up until the moment the battery died or the angle drifted. Then came the part nobody tells you about: getting the thing back down.

For years, I found myself hauling out a long ladder, propping it against the wall, and balancing precariously at the top — arms stretched, fingers crossed — just to reach a camera mounted exactly where it needed to be. Out of reach.

On a less good day, I'd be standing at the bottom of the garden with a long-handled broom, prodding at a £150 piece of technology and hoping gravity would be kind. Spoiler: it wasn't always. One camera didn't survive the broom recovery method. That was the moment enough was enough.

The engineer's solution

I've spent many years solving problems for others as an engineer. So when I finally turned that same thinking to my own Arlo frustration, the solution came naturally — if not quickly.

I needed two things: a better way to retrieve cameras mounted out of reach, and a better way to charge the fixed cameras with magnetic charge inputs that simply couldn't be safely brought down. EasyReach and EasyCharge were born from exactly that need.

Designing both products was something I genuinely enjoyed. And the results have transformed my Arlo experience entirely. What used to be a 10-minute ladder ordeal is now a 30-second job — safer, simpler, and a lot less stressful. No ladders required.

What about the Arlo Pro 6?

Arlo's latest Pro 6 features a USB-C charging input, which means EasyCharge's magnetic system isn't compatible. But there's still a solution: mount your Arlo Pro 6 on the magnetic base I provide, and you can retrieve it just as easily, charge it as you would your phone, then replace and reposition it — all without a ladder in sight.
